Last Tuesday, CIPPEC and CARI participated in a T20 event held at the Argentine Embassy in Washington. The conference called ‘Building a Policy Bridge from the German to the Argentine G20 Presidency’ featured speeches by Julia Pomares, CIPPEC’s Executive Director; Pedro Villagra Delgado, Argentina’s G20 sherpa; Félix Peña, member of CARI’s Board of Directors; Peter Wolff, President of the World Economy and Development Financing Department of the German Development Institute (DIE as per the acronym in German); and Dennis Snower, President of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW).
Ahead of the conference, the representatives of the four think tanks engaged in an informal dialogue with Argentina’s G20 sherpa, Pedro Villagra Delgado.
Furthermore, a working meeting was also held between CARI and CIPPEC’s members and DIE and IfW’s representatives. Some of the topics of the agenda included Germany’s T20 presidency; Argentina’s G20 agenda: key goals for Argentina’s T20 leadership; the Council of Global Problem-Solving (CGP) and its commitment to Argentina’s T20 chairmanship; the T20 working groups; and partnerships.
